We sit down and review your intake forms (I promise they're not a waste of time) + gather any additional subjective information we need to get started. Then we move to a comprehensive but individualized exam including posture, balance, functional movements, gait, range of motion + strength. In the event an internal pelvic floor exam is deemed necessary to diagnose + treat we move forward only with explicit consent. No noisy doctor's office table paper here. Jessica will arrive prepared with everything we need. Once the information is gathered we will discuss findings and create a plan of care together. To conclude our visit we will introduce mobility, strength, breath work etc. as appropriate. You will walk away with information, a plan overview, and actionable items to be completed before we meet again.
Most OB-GYNs are not assessing the pelvic floor (PF) specifically. During a PF exam we are assessing different layers of tissues from superficial to deep. We are checking for scar tissue presence + mobility, tissue quality, strength + coordination.
The internal assessment of the PF is just one tool implemented during evaluation (or follow-up) to piece together the larger picture.
We are an out-of-network (OON) Provider with insurance. Contact your insurance to discuss your OON benefits. A superbill will be provided to you upon request.
